The Creators

The Plague Doctor is an animated short created by four students at the NCCA Bournemouth University.

Agatha Gomes - www.agathagomes.com
Living in Ontario as a teenager, it was a visit to the National Film Board of Canada that sparked Agatha’s curiosity in Animation and VFX, providing the initial brainchild that would eventually grow into “The Plague Doctor”. Agatha brought the film’s characters from concept to creation. Working through the creative process on pre-production, texturing, lighting and compositing, Agatha utilised her skills as a generalist to help bring the project to life.

Jenesta Smith - www.nestasmith.com
Jenesta has had a passion for art from an early age which lead her to study Computer Animation Arts at Bournemouth University. Specialising in modelling and texturing, she worked on the student film “The Plague Doctor” with three other students, which was her first big film project. Jenesta was involved in making the character models, lighting, texturing, compositing and created the title sequence for the film.

Lewis Haley - www.lewishaley.co.uk
Coming from a more maths and science based education prior to university; Lewis quickly took to the more technical aspects of computer animation while studying for his degree in Computer Visualisation and Animation. With his life goal being “to get his name featured in the credits on the big screen”, his role as technical director on "The Plague Doctor" might represent Lewis’ first step in achieving this goal.

Stuart Munro - www.stuart-munro.co.uk
From a young age Stuart was fascinated with all things that move. Whilst studying for an art foundation he moved from still images to animation and he has never looked back. Specialising in rigging and animation on the film “The Plague Doctor” allowed Stuart to engage with, and build a story around the characters.

Music and sound was produced by Guy Larsen.
